Hopefully a discount and a AMA performance will push thunder to #2. Or #1 for that matter but I honestly don’t see that happening.

I hope Praying can get one last push to the Top 20 as it's still gaining on airplay, an AMA performance and a discount could definitely send it over the top. I mean, it just moved 31-28.

Havana is coming for the top 5 on Radio Songs and rockstar could be close to it by next week.

Omg, radio is eating Havana up, looks like it will go top 3 next week 17-9-3.
And I'm amazed with Praying's longevity - it's basically been top 30 since it's debut. It would be amazing if it could hit top 20, it's too bad airplay/sales never lined up and that streaming isn't that strong.

I'm very impressed that P!nk has managed to remain relevant for so long. Real career longevity. Multigenerational.

Can someone explain me how the points are counted? I'd love to see No Limit in the top 10 but I don't get how is gonna make it when I see it out of the top 20 both on airplay and iTunes, is the streaming that strong for this?

Can someone explain the new rules regarding chart points thanks Paid services are counted more then non paid services now. So a stream on a Premium Spotify account will count more then a Non Premium. This also applys to YouTube too. But I don’t know to what extent. I have no clue if YouTube Red is counted as a premium service. (Hopefully i did a decent job explaining.)

Oh I see so it's like 2:1 scenario. 2 points for paid and 1 point for just non paid free streaming. But it's hard to see on spotify top 200 whether the number of listens came from paid and non-paid

I don't think it's going to be 2:1. To my knowledge, we don't know exactly how it's going to be weighted, but I would expect them to be closer than that. Like 1.5:1.

Anything could happen but so far an AMAs performance isn't happening. I'd like it to inch closer to its peak though

Hopefully Urban fans don't have money for Premium Spotify. We don't need the money when we have like quadruple the numbers.

The shift is going to benefit Urban if anything, this is the Apple Music chart, which has no free tier after the trial period. So if you're expecting some sort of respite for thin-voiced Nordic chicks, you're probably outta luck.

So if you're expecting some sort of respite for thin-voiced Nordic chicks, you're probably outta luck. I think you might be underestimating how many people constantly renew their 3 month free Apple Music trial. Does that matter though when there's literally only four songs with no Urban connection (Sam Smith at #10, Ed Sheeran at #23, Halsey at #35, and Imagine Dragons at #36, with the last two being there with Urban or Rhythmic leaning material) in the top 40? Five if you count Camila, but she has Young Thug and is top 15 at Rhythmic. I get that this board has a hatred for seeing Black artists with Urban Contemporary material hitting high on the Hot 100, but the bottom line is that Streaming skews young, and young people are into Urban music right now. It doesn't mean that it's the way it will be permanently (if this was all happening in 2011, I bet you that Skrillex and Afrojack would have had higher charting tracks), but that's the way it is now. It's a lot cheaper to may $10-$15 a month than any other method of payment for music, which lowers the Price Floor for being included in what is factored into the charts.

Let’s not forget that college students get it for $4.99 (myself included) and I’m sure they make up a large percentage of subscriptions (and from my own personal experience, we listen to more Urban music than other genres)

I know this is kind of irrelevant, but I need to ask. I was here last year but never participated in the year-end rank down, how does it work exactly? We go through the entire 100 songs on 2017's chart and rank least to best?

I don't think it's going to be 2:1. To my knowledge, we don't know exactly how it's going to be weighted, but I would expect them to be closer than that. Like 1.5:1. This makes a lot of sense since the programmed/on-demand+YouTube ratio is 2:1. The 2017 formula is: sales/6 + airplay/7,000 + on-demand/1,250 + YouTube/1,250 + programmed/2,500 I think for 2018 it's going to be something like: sales/5 + airplay/7,000 + paid on-demand/1,500 + free on-demand/2,250 + YouTube/2,250 + programmed/3,000
